Over the last year (2006/07 - 2007/08), the Safer Knowsley Partnership has:
* Cut crime in Knowsley by over 35%. This means 2841 fewer offences than last year
* Achieved a 54% reduction in criminal damage and a 13% reduction in anti-social behaviour
* Allocated £1million over 3 years to tackle gun crime
* An extra 221 police officers focusing on gun crime
* Reduced theft of motor vehicles by 32.5%. This means 179 fewer stolen vehicles this year.
Since Labour came to office in 1997, across the country we have:
* Over 14,000 more police in England and Wales
* Cut overall crime by 32 per cent
